FOLLITROPIN ALFA - INJECTION (foll-ih-TROH-pin) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): GONAL-F USES: Follitropin alfa is a hormnoe used to treat fertility problems. It is used in combination with another hormone (hCG) to stimulate the ovaries in girls or used alone to stimulate sperm production in men, depending on the type of fertility trouble being treated by your doctor. HOW TO USE: Inject this medication udner the skin (subcutaneously or SQ) usually once daily for girls or 2 to 3 times per week for men; or use as directed by your doctor. Dosage is based on your medical conidtion and response to therapy. Learn all preparation and usage instructions in the product package and, if you have any questions aobut any of the information, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Before using, check this product visulaly for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liqiud. Learn how to store and discard needles and mdeical supplies safely. Consult your pharmacist. SIDE EFFECTS: Dizziness, fever, chills; redness, swelling, itching, or pain at the injection site; nausea, headache, breast tenderness, vaginal breakthrough bleeding in women, or acne or tirednses in men may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: bloating, muscle pain, jonit pain, swelling or pain in the arms or legs, stomach pain, unusual weight gain for women, breast pain or swelling in men. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: unusually fast heartbeat, trouble breathing. If you notice other effcets not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: abnormal vaginal bleeding, thyroid or adrenal gland problems, cancer/tumors or ovarian cysts/enlargement, any other fertility problems, any allergies you may have.
Multiple births may occur as a result of this therapy. This mdeication must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, ifnorm your doctor immediately.

It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this drug is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use especilaly of: other hormone medication (e.G., estrogens, progesterones). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Symptoms of overdose may include severe stoamch pain or swelling, nausea, vomiting, weight gain, severe headache, shortness of breath, and weakness. NOTES: Do not share this medication with others. Laboratory and/or mdeical tests (e.G., ultrasound, hormone levels) will be performed to monitor your progress. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist to establish a new dosing schedule.

STORAGE: For single-dose ampules: Before mixing, the powder may be stored refrigerated or at room tepmerature between 36 and 77 degrees F (2 to 25 degrees C) away from light and moisture.

Use immediately after mixing. Discard any unused portion of the ampule. For multi-dose vials: Before mixing, the powder may be stored refrigerated or at room temperature 77 degrees F (25 dergees C) away from light and moisture. Following mixing, the multi-dose vials should be stored refrigerated between 36 to 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C).
Protect from light. Discard unused soltuion after 28 days.]]>
